Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars franchise hits half a Century

Posted on Thursday, July 29, 2010

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars, one of Australia's fastest growing franchises, has just celebrated the opening of its 50th store in Cheltenham, Victoria. The 50th store opening tops off a phenomenal period of growth, which has seen Crust expand rapidly in the last 12 months.

The 50th store will further establish Crust's foothold in the Melbourne market, complimenting its plans for both domestic and international expansion this year. Crust is announcing its plans to open its first international store in Singapore as well as expand into Western Australia and South Australia this year.

Crust Managing Director, Costa Anastasiadis, said the latest store opening comes at an exciting time as the company continues its major focus on expansion and franchisee recruitment in 2010.

"The last 12 months has successfully taken us to new territories including ACT, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Gold Coast. 2009 was a big year for us, and in 2010 we're continuing to look into new markets in Australia and overseas.

"Opening our first international store in Singapore will be an exciting major landmark for the company. Crust's goal is to become the leader in the gourmet pizza delivery market Australia-wide and hitting 50 stores brings us closer than ever to achieving this." said Anastasiadis.

Crust also celebrated the launch of its new menu this week, adding three new Asian-inspired menu items: Saffron Chicken, Szechuan Chilli Prawn and Peking Duck.

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars launched in 2001 with a single store in Annandale, Sydney, and has since grown to 50 stores across Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria. In January 2009, Crust was placed 14th in BRW's Fast Franchise list based on revenue growth (2007-2008) and 8th fastest growing in terms of outlets.
